Licenced Drone Aerials
Specific licence
We hold the Finnish Transport and Communication Agency Traficom specific licence, allowing us to fly heavy drones over urban areas with no requirement for ground risk buffer — one of the few companies in Finland with this capability. Without a specific licence operating heavier drones like the DJI Inspire 3 is strictly not allowed in urban areas.
The fact that our flight operations do not require a ground risk buffer (a closed area surrounding the operational volume of a UAS, designed to minimize the risk to people and property) makes filming in cities flexible and possible. For example second unit aerial shots in urban locations are possible with us in the whole of Finland.
Specific license is essential for safe drone operation in the EU because it ensures that operators possess the training, knowledge and skills to comply with EU regulations, promoting safe airspace management and mitigating potential risks.
All Airpix drone pilots and camera operators are trained to safely operate in urban environments and are also certified in first aid for emergency situations. Traficom monitors and audits drone operators holding a specific license so we have to keep our standards high!
